What is the Security Monitoring MP?

Security Monitoring was designed with the idea of being able to use SCOM to detect and alert on the breadcrumbs that attackers leave behind when they are actively compromising a system. It has also evolved into an auditing tool that a security team can use to get a view on what IT Operations is doing in an environment. It also can be used to detect certain security risks such as the use of legacy protocols like SMB1 or LANMAN.
